Standard #9
Reflection and Continuous Growth
The teacher is a reflective practitioner who uses
evidence to continually evaluate his/her
practice, particularly the effects of his/her
choices and actions on others (students, families,
and other professionals in the learning
community), and adapts practice to meet the
needs of each learner.
Artifact
Above is a linked photo to a google document that is shared between two other teaches and I. In this document we actively adjust the current curriculum, make lesson plans, add new content and discuss new ideas. This is reflected during the work day as well. After work I meet with collaborating sciences teachers to discuss how well the lesson worked for that day and to adapt the lesson to meet the needs of each learner. The reevaluation and the continual differentiation of my lessons and curriculum while using a shared google doc makes this artifact the perfect example for this standard. Continuing to reassess myself and my content based on the needs of each student is an integral part to teaching and this along with the artifact below best demonstrate this.
Attached above is a link to an observation that my college professor did in order to assess my teaching and how well I met each common core state standard in regard to my lesson. There were a total of three observations by my professor and there were several other observations that were performed by an administrator during my time teaching. This is a further assessment of how well I developed a diverse lesson and it also acts as a way for me to reflect on how I taught. The observation allowed me to see how the students and other educators reacted to my lesson. Using this I can adapt my lessons/curriculum further to accommodate more students needs and to better prepare myself for the next time I teach that lesson, and lessons to come.
